As per trade analysts and experts, Bollywood is approximately 20 to 30% behind in terms of net box office collections in the domestic market as compared to 2023. The India box office business for the first six months was 7.5% down than last year, as per data by Ormax. Between January to November, the business was 4% lower than the same period last year.
Last year films like Jawan, Pathaan, Animal and Gadar did record-breaking collections and this year medium-budget films like Shaitaan, Munjya, Crew and Stree 2 did profitable business at the box office compared to last year.
