Pakistan ended 2024 with a close two-wicket defeat against South Africa in the Boxing Day Test in Centurion and will start their packed schedule of 2025 with the second Test match starting on January 3 in Cape Town. (More Cricket News)nustabet gaming
The Shan Masood-led Test side will host West Indies for a couple of Test matches starting from January 16 in Karachi and Multan respectively. That will be their final Test match of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle.
Then they will host New Zealand and South Africa for a tri-nation series before the highly awaited ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Pakistan are defending champions and hosts of this edition and are eager to host the ICC tournament with India's matches set to be hosted by Dubai.
Pakistan will face New Zealand, India and Bangladesh in the group stage of the Champions Trophy 2025 and will play semi-finals and final if qualified.
After that, Pakistan will visit New Zealand for their first away series. The bilateral series will consist of three ODIs and five T20I matches. After that, Pakistan will invite Bangladesh for another white-ball series consisting of three ODIs and three T20Is.
Then Men In Green will visit the West Indies for three ODIs and three T20Is in July and August. Then Afghanistan will visit Pakistan for three T20I matches.
Pakistan will invite Ireland for a white-ball series in September-October which will include three ODIs and three T20I matches.
ACC Asia Cup 2025 will be played in October-November with the schedule is yet to be declared. But, it is sure that Pakistan will not visit India and will play their matches at a neutral venue.
After that, Pakistan will play their first Test matches of the new WTC cycle when they will host South Africa for two Tests, three ODIs and three T20I matches.
They will finish the year with another white-ball series at home against Sri Lanka. The bilateral series will have three ODIs and three T20Is.
During the tour, India secured a 2-2 (4-2 SO) win against Belgium in their first game but lost 2-3 in the second match against the same opponent. They faced a narrow 5-4 defeat against Bredase Hockey Vereniging.
This was announced by FIH President Tayyab Ikram who said: "Giving more opportunities to play to a larger and more diverse number of National Associations is one of the key pillars of our empowerment and engagement strategy."
